The following post on this horrible fat-hating campaign in Georgia originated on Fierce, Freethinking Fatties. Please help us put some pressure on the hospital that is funding this effort. Contact information is at the end of the article. Please, please, please reblog and share with everyone you know. Every voice makes us louder.I think the message that obesity levels in children are at their highest and that most parents are to blame is an important one to get across. I think parents need a wake up call that all the things they feed their children affect the child’s health. I do NOT think that this is the way to get the message across.
No, this is a message that needs to be sent home to parents. I am sure that these kids illustrated in this ad were aware of the circumstances. as well as the parents. It is possible, even, that they were awarded health care and dietitians for being in the ad, especially if it is funded by a hospital. I think it is true that every body type should feel comfortable and accepted. BUT PREVENTING future health problems and obesity come way before hurting some of your feelings. To me.
